What is After the Fire™?

After the Fire™ is a women’s healing, empowerment and rebuilding movement created by Dr. Mischell “Dr. Gee” Glenn. It is for women who have survived difficult seasons and asks one important question: You survived it—but how do you live after it? Through speaking, music, books, workshops, conferences and Fireside Clarity Calls, Dr. Gee helps women rebuild what was damaged and rediscover the woman who survived.

Who is After the Fire™ for?

Especially for the woman everybody thinks is okay. She works, she serves, she takes care of her family and encourages everybody else—but somewhere along the way she may have lost herself. Whether you are divorced, an empty nester, recovering from heartbreak or simply asking “Who am I now?” there is a place for you here.

What does “Tested by the Fire. Refined by the Flame.” mean?

It means the fire may have changed you, but it did not have to destroy you. It is about taking what you survived and allowing it to produce wisdom, boundaries, strength, clarity and purpose. We don’t celebrate the fire. We celebrate the woman who came out of it.

What does “The house was me” mean?

Sometimes we spend so much time trying to save a relationship, family, career or another person that we fail to notice what is happening to us. Our peace, confidence, identity and boundaries are burning. “The house was me” is the moment the question changes from “How do I save this?” to “How do I save me?”

What is the Personal Fire Escape Plan™?

A practical tool designed to help women identify what they need when life becomes overwhelming—warning signs, boundaries, options, trusted contacts, safe places, resources, next steps and rebuilding goals. The goal is not to tell you what to do, but to help you see your situation more clearly.

What are Fireside Clarity Calls?

A private one-on-one conversation with Dr. Gee designed to give you a safe, judgment-free space to talk honestly about what you are experiencing. Sometimes you don’t need another person telling you what to do—you need a safe place to hear yourself think. They are not therapy, legal advice or medical treatment.

Is Dr. Gee a therapist?

No. Dr. Gee’s Fireside Clarity Calls and After the Fire™ programs are based on lived experience, ministry, mentorship and practical empowerment. They are not psychotherapy, medical treatment, legal advice or crisis intervention. When a situation requires professional assistance, women are encouraged to seek an appropriate licensed provider.

What if I am currently in a dangerous situation?

Your immediate safety comes first. After the Fire™ resources are not substitutes for emergency or professional assistance. If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource. You can have faith and ask for help. You can pray and make a safety plan.

Can Dr. Gee speak at our church, conference or retreat?

Do I have to be religious to attend?

After the Fire™ was born from Dr. Gee’s personal journey and faith is an important part of her story. However, the message of surviving, establishing boundaries, rediscovering yourself and finding purpose after pain can speak to women from many different backgrounds.

What is a Green Room Fire Fighter™?

Accepted Answer

A woman who has learned that she does not have to destroy herself trying to rescue everybody else. She learns to recognize the smoke, establish boundaries, ask for help, know when to step away, and support other women without setting herself on fire in the process.
